Hide n' Seek
L’artista racconta di aver affrontato questo progetto con l’intenzione precisa di mettersi alla prova, spingendosi oltre i confini della propria comfort zone e adottando un approccio più leggero e spontaneo. Alla base del lavoro, infatti, c’è soprattutto il desiderio di divertirsi e di lasciarsi sorprendere dal processo creativo.
Il brano in questione rappresenta il punto di partenza del prossimo EP "Neon Dream", segnando fin da subito una svolta verso territori sonori inediti. Proprio questa apertura verso nuove direzioni musicali riflette una volontà chiara: rompere gli schemi abituali e abbracciare l’imprevedibilità come parte integrante della propria identità artistica.
Nel corso della lavorazione, la traccia ha assunto progressivamente una dimensione quasi ludica. L’uso dei sussurri, inizialmente sperimentale, si è rivelato sorprendentemente efficace, contribuendo a creare un’atmosfera particolare e suggerendo in modo naturale il titolo Hide n’ Seek. A influenzare l’immaginario del pezzo ha contribuito anche la sfera personale dell’artista, in particolare il rapporto con il figlio di cinque anni, appassionato proprio del gioco del nascondino.
Dal punto di vista stilistico, il brano segna anche un avvicinamento a sonorità più vicine all’hip-hop, un territorio a lungo desiderato ma finora mai esplorato fino in fondo a causa di esitazioni e autocritiche. In questa occasione, invece, l’artista sceglie di affidarsi completamente al proprio istinto, superando i blocchi creativi e portando a compimento una nuova fase del proprio percorso musicale.
Biografia
“Galapaghost” è il progetto di Casey Chandler, nato e cresciuto a Woodstock (USA) e stabilitosi adesso nelle valli sopra Torino (ITA).
Dopo aver accompagnato come musicista turnista John Grant (promuovendo quello che è stato l’album dell’anno per la rivista Mojo “Queen Of Denmark”), e aver suonato negli Stati Uniti, in Canada e in Europa, oltre che in varie importanti trasmissioni televisive, tra cui “Later…with Jools Holland”, Chandler inizia la sua carriera solista con l’album “Runnin’”, supportandolo con un tour Italiano in cui viene accompagnato da Federico Puttilli (Nadàr Solo, Levante, Kiol) e Ru Catania (Africa Unite, Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti, Wah Companion).
Galapaghost produce successivamente altri otto album, sette EP’s e collabora inoltre a varie riprese con il cinema e la televisione, scrivendo musica per “Il Ragazzo Invisibile” di Gabriele Salvatores, “Una Relazione” di Stefano Sardo, per la promozione della serie Netflix “Tredici” e per una pellicola promozionale prodotta dal brand sportivo “Quiksilver” con il leggendario snowboarder Travis Rice, tra le altre cose.

Hide n’ Seek
The artist describes facing this project with the precise intention of challenging himself, pushing himself out of his comfort zone and adopting a more lighthearted and spontaneous approach.
At the heart of this project there’s the desire to have fun and let himself get lost in the creative process.
This song represents the starting point for Galapaghost’s new EP “Neon Dream", marking the start of a new creative direction towards new sound landscapes. This embrace of a new musical direction is a clear reflection of the will to break the usual schemes and embrace the unknown as part of one’s artistic identity.
During the creation, the track ended up taking an almost playful tone. The use of whispers all along the track, at first experimental, turned out to be particularly effective in helping create a peculiar atmosphere which naturally leads to the song’s title Hide n’ Seek. Another influence to the track’s imagery was the singer’s personal sphere, particularly his relationship with his 5 year old son, who loves to play hide and seek.
From a stylistic perspective, the song marks an approach to hip hop sounds, a territory longed for but until now unexplored due to hesitation and self doubt. In this instance the artist chooses to fully trust his instinct, overcoming his creative blocks and completing a new phase of his musical journey.
Biography
Galapaghost is Casey Chandler’s musical project, born and raised in Woodstock (USA) and now living in the valleys above Turin (Italy).
After accompanying John Grant as a sideman (promoting magazine Mojo album of the year “Queen of Denmark”), and after playing in the USA, Canada and Europe, as well as in some famous TV shows such as “Later… with Jools Holland”, Chandler begins his solo career with his debut album “Runnin”, supporting it with an Italian tour accompanied by Federico Puttilli (Nadàr Solo, Levante, Kiol) and Ru Catania (Africa Unite, Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti, Wah Companion).
Galapaghost later on produces eight albums, seven EPs and collaborates on various movie and TV projects, writing music for “The Invisible Boy” by Gabriele Salvatores, “With or Without You” by Stefano Sardo, Netflix’s series “13 Reasons Why” and a promotional film produced by the sports brand Quiksilver starring the legendary snowboarder Travis Rice, amongst other things.
