Growing Pains Deluxe
Trousdale, il trio indie folk di Los Angeles, annuncia che Growing Pains Deluxe verrà pubblicato il 15 maggio. In arrivo poco dopo il primo anniversario del loro secondo album, la versione ampliata include un mix di brani inediti e versioni rielaborate delle tracce di spicco di Growing Pains.
L’album deluxe vedrà la collaborazione di Rachael Price dei Lake Street Dive, Tors, Ken Yates e HAFFWAY.
In aggiunta ai nuovi brani, le Trousdale hanno pubblicato la loro personale cover dell’amato classico di Neil Young, Old Man. È un brano che il trio esegue da anni: "Siamo sempre state grandi fan di Neil Young", hanno dichiarato le Trousdale. "La sua musica e il suo attivismo sono stati straordinarie fonti di ispirazione per noi come band. Abbiamo realizzato una cover di 'Old Man' anni fa per divertimento e ne abbiamo registrato una versione live solo come trio. Quando poi abbiamo iniziato a fare tournée con una band al completo, è diventata una costante nei nostri concerti. È di gran lunga l’arrangiamento vocale più difficile che abbiamo mai fatto. Nonostante faccia parte del nostro repertorio live da anni, ci è sembrato che 'Old Man fosse la cover perfetta con cui iniziare dopo l'uscita di 'Growing Pains'. Sia per il significato del brano che per il nostro percorso con essa, abbiamo amato l’idea di far seguire al nostro album una canzone che parla di crescere — e di come tutti vogliamo e abbiamo bisogno di molte delle stesse cose nella vita indipendentemente dall’età."
Attualmente in corso, le Trousdale stanno concludendo il loro tour europeo e nel Regno Unito come headliner. Una volta tornate in Nord America, la band ha recentemente annunciato una nuova serie di date da headliner tra la fine di maggio e metà giugno.
Biografia
Per Trousdale — il trio formato da Quinn D’Andrea, Georgia Greene e Lauren Jones — il dolore della crescita attraverso il cambiamento, il confronto con l’ansia esistenziale e le questioni di cuore sono tutte strettamente legate. Nel secondo LP della band, Growing Pains, disponibile ora, il gruppo affronta queste difficoltà per trovare forza, coraggio e crescita le une con le altre.
L’album è stato registrato in gran parte dal vivo in studio e co-prodotto dalla band insieme a John Mark Nelson, cantautore che ha anche co-scritto e prodotto brani per Suki Waterhouse e Shaboozey, oltre ad aver curato l’ingegneria di brani di nomi come Taylor Swift e Mitski. Nonostante lavorare con co-scrittori come Mags Duval e Adam Yaron abbia ampliato le conoscenze della band, il trio attribuisce a John Mark Nelson una guida particolarmente significativa.
Per quanto le Trousdale suonino bene quando propendano al loro pop, il gruppo riesce a integrare le proprie influenze country nel repertorio con grande maestria. Attraverso questo straordinario insieme di lavoro, Growing Pains affronta tutto il peso del suo titolo: un trio di donne forti e indipendenti che affrontano le minacce di solitudine, cuori spezzati, perdita e altre difficoltà, e lo convertono in una musica che diventa trasformazione e gioia. Trousdale ha avuto un percorso incredibile sin dall'uscita del loro secondo album quasi un anno fa. Punti di rilievo di questo percorso sono il loro debutto televisivo diurno al The Kelly Clarkson Show, la partecipazione al Today show con la canzone The Ick, il debutto al Grand Ole Opry, in tour con Maren Morris e Lake Street Dive e i concerti sold out come headliner in Nord America, Europa e Australia.
Growing Pains Deluxe
Trousdale, the LA-based indie folk trio, announce Growing Pains Deluxe will be released on May 15. Arriving a little after the one-year anniversary of their sophomore album, the expanded version will include a mix of new songs and reworked versions of Growing Pains standout tracks.

Along with the new tracks, Trousdale has released their soaring cover of beloved Neil Young classic Old Man. A song the trio has been performing for years: “We’ve always been huge fans of Neil Young,” shared Trousdale. “His music and activism have both served as massive inspirations for us as a band. We covered ‘Old Man’ years ago for fun, and filmed a live version as just a trio. But as we began touring with a full band, it became a constant cover in our live set. It’s by far the hardest vocal arrangement we’ve ever performed. Although this song has been in our live repertoire for years, we felt like ‘Old Man’ was the perfect cover for us to begin with after releasing ‘Growing Pains.’ For the song itself and our own journey with it, we loved the idea of following our album up with a song about growing up — and how we all want and need so many of the same things in life no matter our age.”
Currently underway, Trousdale are wrapping up their headline European/ UK tour. Once they return to North America, the band has recently announced a new run of headline tour dates at the end of May through mid-June.
